The United Democratic Madhesi Front and the ruling parties have agreed to take the constitution amendment process and the act of holding local level elections together ahead. In a meeting between senior leaders of both the sides held at the Prime Minister's official residence on Tuesday, an agreement was also reached to hold extensive deliberations to reach a conclusion on the matter. Senior leaders of the UDMF and the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress were present in the meeting. Talking to reporters following the meeting, NC leader and DPM Bimalendra Nidhi said the Prime Minister urged the Morcha to help with the announcement of the date of local elections, reasoning that preparations were being made to address the Morcha's concern in the constitution amendment. The Prime Minister also assured the Morcha of taking them into confidence on matter of both the constitution amendment and elections.
