DDC lamjung through EFLG program and Ghermu VDC have supported this rock garden with genuine support of local people. With new concept, this place carries potential tourism attraction site in Ghermu VDC.In order to boost the internal tourism in Mahavir of Ilam Municipality-7, construction works for a rock garden with rock climbing walls and children’s park has started. Construction following a feasibility study has been started by Progressive Youth Society based in Mahavir . Society Chairman, Umesh Mahat said,with the allotment of spending plan of Rs 1 million from Mechi Hilly Area Tourism Promotion Development Committee, the development of rock climbing divider, rock greenhouse and youngsters’ park has begun s. Committee Executive Director, Keshav Dhaurali said, the plausibility study was held by Mechi Hilly Area Tourism Promotion Development Committee after which the Youth Society was given the obligation of development. The Youth Society said they picked Mahavir zone as it was the most proper spot in the region for development of the stone climbing divider and kids’ park. Mahavir is situated at a separation of one hour’s stroll from the area base camp.
