But who actually is the first Nepali female to join British Army?Rita Rana was supposedly regarded as the first Nepali girl in the British Armed Force. Being selected in the formal recruitment of female soldiers in 2010, Private Rita Rana was successful to be a part of British Army. But she was probably not the first one to join British Armed Force. In fact, a brave Gurkha girl named Pabin Rai was able to secure the title of first Gurkha girl in British Army in the year 2004 that was six years before Rita Rana joined the armed force. The official recruitment of Nepali female soldiers began from the year 2009 only. But, however, Pabin Rai was able to join prior the prescribed period. With the help of her British Overseas National Passport privileges, the daughter of ex-British soldier was able to be a part of 2 PARA Regiment of the British Army.
